Antique pictorial map of the Finger Lakes Area of New York, compiled by Sidney E. Ayres and Mrs. Walter A. Henricks, and drawn by C.M/ Plaisted, copyright 1934. This colorful illustrated map is full of historical information. The illustrations depict notable residents, places, events, and battles. The border consists of numerous historical notations. This map is believed to be circa 1955 because of two small changes from the original 1934 map: in the lower left along the border is printed "Glass Center 1951" and between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes is the addition of the "Naval Training Center - 1942" and "Air Force Base Dec. 1950." Original printed color. Good to very good condition with some toning an light foxing, some minor wear/small tears at paper edges, some spots in the margin, and some mild surface loss in the corners. Measures approx. 17.5 x 21.5 inches to the edge of the printed area. Paper measures approx. 19 x 24.5 inches.
