Antique hand-colored map of Nichols, New York, published in the Atlas of Tioga County, by Beers, Ellis, and Soule, 1869. Map is colored by district and shows the names of property owners at time of publication, as well as railroads, schools, post offices, and various points of interest such as a then proposed extension to the Chenango Canal, and a location to "water your horses," etc. Includes inset maps of Hoopers Valley and Wappasening, and subscriber's business directories for Nichols, Hoopers Valley, and Wappasening. Very good antique condition with toning of the paper throughout, which is darker outside the neatline, spots of foxing/soiling, and some minor image overlay. Center fold, as issued. Measures approximately 14" x 21.25" to the neatline.
