1840
Maker: Burr / Stone & Clark
Antique map of Chenango County, New York. This map was originally published by David H. Burr in 1829 in his Atlas of the State of New York, which was reissued in 1840 by Stone & Clark, a rare edition that is almost never seen on the market. Colored by town, this map shows stage roads, county roads, villages, flouring mills, manufactories, forges, saw mills, and churches. Each town is divided into numerous private land claims, some of which are identified by name. Map is accompanied by a page of statistics relating to Chenango. Very good antique condition overall, with some stains and spots in the margin that can be hidden with a mat when framing. Map image itself is mostly clean with just a few minor small spots. Measures approx. 18 x 12.5 inches.
