Antique print from the Atlas to Barclay's Universal English Dictionary, Newly Revised by B.B. Woodward, published by Virtue & Company circa 1850. Undated. This print features King Charles I (born 1600—died 1649), king of Great Britain and Ireland (1625–49), whose authoritarian rule and quarrels with Parliament provoked a civil war that led to his execution. Good antique condition, backed on fabric with some spots. Measures approx. 11 x 8.5 inches to the paper edges.
