Maker: John Held Jr.
Humorous antique map of an imaginary estate for someone who loves fishing, "conceived and engrossed by John Held Jr." This landscape includes everything the fishing enthusiast could want, including numerous private pools and streams with falls and riffles, surrounded by no trespassing signs. A large camp sits at the middle and the Fly Tying Department is conveniently nearby. All the streams connect to a large fish hatchery. A scale of miles sits at the bottom with the note "as though it mean anything." This map is sure to delight anyone interested in fly-fishing! Would make a great gift! On the back side is a cartoon in woodblock style printing titled "The Man Who Sounded an R in the Harvard Club." Very good antique condition with toning and a few mild stains. Measures approx. 11 x 8 inches to the paper edges.
