Maker: Harper's Weekly
Antique black and white page of prints from the November 1, 1884 edition of Harper's Weekly Magazine. The first engraved illustration, drawn by Henry Bacon, shows a view of a sailor and his lover standing together on the shore, leaning against a large wooden winch with small sailboats and a large cliff behind them. The engraved illustration below it has no artist's mark but says it is "from a photograph by John. A. Kline" and shows a view of a railway car teetering over a collapsed railroad bridge, with another car in the wreck below. The collapse happened on the Little Miami River in Batavia, Ohio. Very good antique condition with mild toning and some mild wrinkling of the paper, as well as a few spots of minor foxing/staining. Page measures approximately 16" x 10.75" overall.
