Genuine Antique Hand Colored Map

1889

Maker: Walker.

Antique hand-colored map from the Atlas of Middlesex County, MA, 1889, by Walker. Double-sided. Larger centerfold map shows part of Concord MA with some residences of famous literary figures including Ralph Waldo Emerson (deceased in 1882- his property was owned by his wife in 1889), and the Old Manse, previously owned by Nathaniel Hawthorne, as well as the battlefield where the Minutemen fought the British on April 19, 1775. The verso of the larger map is two smaller maps- one of part of Dracut, and the other side is Chelmsford Center. With names of property owners at the time of publication. Fair to good condition, with a repaired tear and archival tape in the Navy Yard/Collinsville map. Double sheet measures 16.5 x 26 inches to the neatline; single sheets measure approx. 12 x 16 inches. Price has been reduced due to tear.
