Antique uncolored copper plate map of part of South America, including modern day Peru, Ecuador, and parts of surrounding countries, from Allain Manesson Mallet's "Description de l'Univers" published in 1683. This interesting map shows rivers, mountains, cities including Quito, Lima, Cusco, La Paz, Potosi. Shows the areas of various native peoples, including the Chachapoyas, Pacamoros, and Charca people. Very good antique condition with some very mild smudges. The verso text is slighly visible. Measures approx. 5.5 x 3.75 inches to the neatline and 8.5 x 5.5 inches to the paper edges.
