Celestial map from the French version of the Astronomischer Bilder Atlas by Wilhelm Nitzschke, 1862. This print shows constellations. "Hold To Light" maps as this have cut outs with filmy paper behind them so that when you hold them to the light, the stars shine. Both decorative and informative, these types of maps can be custom framed by us with glass on both sides for the light to shine through them. Very good overall antique condition with toning throughout, and a few minor signs of age. Measures 11.5 x 9.25 inches to the paper edges.
