Genuine Antique Printed Color Map

1916

Maker: Bromley.

Antique printed color map of part of Manhattan, New York City, from the Atlas of New York City, Borough of Manhattan, by Bromley, 1916. Shows W 183rd to W 189th and Fort Washington Park to Broadway, this area would later house Bennett Park and Hudson View Gardens but there was not much here in 1916. The explanation key for this atlas was only included on the index map- pink indicates brick, yellow is frame (wood), an X means the building is a stable, the numbers and letters on each building indicate the number of stories of the building and whether it has a basement, store, or saloon (see index image for full explanation). Very good antique condition with toning overall. Paper is fragile. Sheet measures approx. 11.5 x 16.25 inches. Double-sided sheet has NYC114A on one side and NYC114B on the other side (please add only one of these two maps to your cart).
