Campaign against Sterling Price, 1864 / West Point and Big Blue, Mo. / West Point and Big Blue, October 22nd and 23rd, 1864 / Battle-Field of Five Forks, Va., April 1st, 1865 and field of operations / Battle-Field of Five Forks, Va., April 1st, 1865 showing positions and movements / Military Prison on Johnson's Island, Ohio / plus 6 smaller maps. Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War, 1893. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. Smaller maps are: Osage of Mine Creek, Kansas; a sketch of Little Osage River; Battle-ground of Westport MO; Battle-ground of Newtonia, MO; Battle-ground of Charlotte; a sketch of location of rebel camp fires on James River. The map of the Campaign against Sterling Price shows an area between the Arkansas River and Missouri River with Kansas City. Very good condition with image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
