Full title: Plate 82. Engagement at Harper's Ferry, Va., July 4th, 1864 / Battle of Belle Grove or Cedar Creek, Wednesday, October 19th, 1864 plus 10 smaller maps. Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War, 1893. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. Smaller maps are: Engagement at Charlestown, VA; Battle of Berryville, VA; Cavalry Action at Martinsburg, VA; Engagement at Opequon Bridge and Smithfield, VA; Line of Intrenchments at Fishers Hill, VA and Battle of Fisher's Hill; McCausland's and Johnson's Brigades of Cavalry (burning of Chambersburg); Gooney Run, Warren Co. VA; Cavalry Engagement near Bridgewater, VA; Action at Guard Hill; Actions near Kearneysville and Shepherdstown, VA. Very good condition with image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
