Antique hand-colored coastal chart of Ship Island Shoal, Louisiana, published by the United States Coast Survey, in their Annual Report of 1853. Includes information regarding water depths, currents, etc.. Shows the Gulf of Mexico, Caillou Bay, Oyster Bay, and Isle Derniere (Last Island.) Good overall antique condition with some overall toning that is slightly darker at the paper edges and folds, some minor wear and small tears at the paper edges and fold intersection, a small spot or two. Tight margin on left side (can be hidden with a mat when framing). Measures approximately 15.5" x 17.25" to the neatline.
