Antique steel engraving print published in The Scenery of The United States by D. Appleton and Co, shows a view of the Mississippi River near St. Anthony's Falls in Minneapolis with a paddle steamer in distance. Various dams were built throughout the nineteenth century to assist with mill efficiency in the region, and at one point the city was known as the "flour milling capital of the world." Good condition, approximately 8" x 11" to the paper edges.
