Antique black and white print from Harper's Weekly December 7, 1878 showing a chaotic football match. The players pile on each other while the player with the ball passes it to a teammate, despite an adversary literally tearing his jersey off! Good antique condition with some wrinkling / creasing of the old paper, and mild toning. Measures approx. 16.5 x 11.25 inches to the paper edges. Note: any "rainbows" or strange patterns in the image are called moire effect- caused by taking a digital photo or scan of the many parallel lines in the engraved print- these are not in the print.
