Antique coastal chart, showing the coast and islands of Washington Sound or Salish Sea, Strait of Georgia, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and San Juan Islands with inset of Admiralty Inlet and Puget Sound. Published by the US Coast Survey in their Annual Report of 1862. Seattle is noted on the inset map, but the larger map does not extend south enough to include it. The area that would become Vancouver is located at the top of the map, but is noted only with Fort Langley and Cowitchin Village. With bathymetric data, and information on light houses and tides. Hand-colored by our professional artist. Very good overall antique condition, with toning that is darker along the folds and at the edges, some minor wear along the folds and small holes at fold intersections, some minor small spots. Measures approx. 27 x 25 inches.
