Antique map of Christmas Sound on the coast of Tierra del Fuego. From Capt. James Cook’s, A Voyage Towards the South Pole, and Round the World, performed in His Majesty’s Ships the ‘Resolution’ and ‘Adventure’, In the Years 1772, 1773, 1774, and 1775. Published 1777. This is where Cook and his crew spent Christmas in 1774. Recent hand-coloring. Very good condition with mild toning, some tiny spots. Measures approx. 9 x 6.75 inches to the neatline.
