Antique lithograph map by Julius Bien & Co. published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies, published under the direction of the Hon. Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War, 1894. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography.
This map shows Washington DC as well as the DMV metro area and even beyond, to Harrisburg and Philadelphia PA, Culpepper VA, Franklin WV, all of Delaware and most of Maryland. Shows railroads, cities, towns, villages, topography. Very good antique condition with minor toning of the paper throughout, very mild image transfer, and a few spots of very mild foxing. Measures approx. 16.5" x 27.25" to the neatline.
