1897

Maker: Harper's Weekly

Antique hunting print published in Harper's Weekly on October 2, 1897. Double-sided page. One side has two images: two men and two dogs "in corn-field stubble" and the other shows two men with a dog and an escaping bird titled "Shoot! Shoot, man! Why don't you shoot?" The other side has an image with two men and two dogs titled "I missed mine to the left." Text of the related article surrounds the images. The article is about Robins Island in Peconic Bay. Abraham Ingraham purchased the entire island in 1881. Ingraham, who was from New York, used the island for hunting quail and other game. Very good antique condition with mild toning, a few other tiny spots/signs of age. Measures approx. 16 x 11 inches to the page edges.
