Genuine Antique Hand Colored Map

Maker: Butler.

 

Antique hand colored map of Syria, Mesopotamia, Assyria, and other surrounding areas in the Ancient Middle East (mainly comprising modern-day Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, and Turkey.) Written in Latin. Reference for scale given in Roman Miles and Persian Parasangs. Map is in good condition with some  staining along fold, some seam separation. Map by Dr. Samuel Butler, published in An Atlas of Ancient Geography, 1838. Measures approximately 7" x 9" to the neatline.
