Antique map of the Tibet area- it includes part of the Ganges River in the lower left and also the Bautisus River (Ptolemy's name for the Yellow River) on the right. Published in "Geografia cioe Descrittione Universale della Terra" Gio. Battista & Giorgio Galignani Fratelli. Venice, 1598, First edition in Italian prepared by Giovanni Antonio Magini. This was an atlas that copied Ptolemy's maps. Very good condition with a small stain in the map, and printing on verso slightly visible through the paper. Sheet measures approx. 11.75 x 8 inches.
