This illustration is from a chapter detailing the capture of New Orleans, Louisiana by the Union in the American Civil War. Shows a bird's eye view of the city of New Orleans, with many steamboats along the Mississippi River in the foreground. Includes the date of "May, 1862" and chapter title of "The Capture of New Orleans" at the left. Page of text on back. Very good antique condition with some minor staining and roughing along the right outer edge, including a small tear in the paper.
Note: any "rainbows" or strange patterns in the image are called moire pattern- caused by taking a digital photo or scan of the many parallel lines in the print- these are not in the print and we can try to take more photos if you are concerned.
