Antique printed color pictorial folding map designed and illustrated by Mary Hall Atwood, and published by the Union Oil Company for the 1932 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, California, during the Great Depression. On the recto is a complete map of the Los Angeles area and guide to the locations of each event held at the Olympic Games. The pictorial border includes general directions to Los Angeles from its environs, with illustrations of architectural points of interest along the way. On the verso of the unfolded map, is a general program for the events, a pictorial map of the Olympic City and specific event arenas, a history of the Union Oil Company, and a history of the Olympic Games, as well as the decorated cover of the folding map. Good to Very good overall condition with mild toning and wrinkling throughout, a few areas of mild foxing/staining, and some minor paper loss at the fold intersections. Recto Map measures approximately 17.25" x 21.75" (H x W) to the edge of the printed area. **SOLD**
