Antique map of Montgomeryshire, one of the historic counties of Wales, as the index page to a set of maps showing the road from Gloucester to Montgomery. Early antique black and white engraved strip road map showing part of the road from Gloucester, England to Montgomery, Wales, as split into parts. This is sheet one of a multiple sheet series, however we do not have the other sheets. Published by the London Magazine, c. 1767. Includes illustrated topographical details, houses, churches, cities, etc. The Arms of the Bishoprick of Hereford and the Deanary of Hereford are shown. Good overall antique condition with mild toning that is darker at the paper edges, some light stains. The hand-coloring on the Montgomeryshire side is recent. The sheet measures approximately 5.25 x 8 (H x W).
