Antique two-page sheet from Tunison's Peerless Universal Atlas of the World, c. 1888 by H.C. Tunison. This map of South America is colored by country and includes a small inset map of the Panama Isthmus with the planned route of the Panama Canal, which was started in 1881. Vibrant original color. Good antique condition with some minor stains and smudges (mostly in the margins), and some small wrinkles. The strike on some pages in this atlas is a bit faint. Measures approx. 14 x 22 inches to the paper edges.
