1863
Maker: Ettling/Weekly Dispatch.
Hand colored antique map of the eastern and central US by Ettling, published in the Weekly Dispatch Atlas, 1863. The coloring of this map shows the Confederate states in the south as green, the "Border States" are orange, and the Federal states are pink (called red in the key). On this map New Mexico is shown above Arizona and, notably, Arizona is not shown as a Confederate territory, which it did become for a brief time in 1862. Other features of this map include a large Washington state that stretches to Utah, a huge Dakota that spans from Washington to Minnesota and a Nebraska that is equally large. This map is in two sheets that can be joined (contact us if you with us to join them when you purchase them). Good condition with some edge wear, a tightly cropped left margin, and some light foxing. Each sheet measures approx. 17 x 12.5 inches to the neatlines. **SOLD**
