Printed color antique map by Julius Bien & Co. at the turn of the century, part of a series of maps of the nation as it was torn apart during the Civil War; titled "Map of the United States of America, Showing the Boundaries of the Union and Confederate Geographical Divisions and Departments, June 30, 1862", from the "Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies, 1861-65," the map shows in great detail the extent of both the Union and Confederacy at that time, and includes notes on the positions of the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia; as a whole, the series also clearly charts a young and growing nation, including railroads, mail routes, the Pony Express route, the Oregon Trail, military headquarters, and topographical features. Very good overall antique condition, with minor toning, measures approx. 16.5 x 27.75 inches. **SOLD**
