Double-sided map showing the routes of American Airlines flights in the US from c. 1959. This map appears to be undated, but the text in the segment titled "The Look of Leadership" explains that American Airlines will soon be flying the new Boeing 707 jets, and it is known that this occurred in 1959. One side shows flights around the East Coast, South, and Midwest, including routes from Boston, New York City, Washington DC, Detroit, Chicago, Dallas Fort Worth, New Orleans, and Miami. The other side shows the western routes to San Francisco and Los Angeles, along with some inset maps of the entire system, and the routes to Mexico. Good condition with wrinkling of the paper from handling, some small tears at the paper edges, wear along the folds and some small holes at the fold intersections. Measures approx. 24 x 36 inches to the paper edges.
