Vintage pictorial illustrated map by Phil S. McCarty for the Wilmington Transportation Company, which operated the steamships that connected the island with Los Angeles. This map was published as part of a brochure for the island. It is undated but the text on the back side references the New Casino, which was completed in 1929. Photos and description of the island's attractions, including the country club and golf course, schools, Catalina Bird Park, Famous Glass Bottom Boats, and the Ning Po pirate ship built in 1753 that was anchored at Santa Catalina for display in 1917. The map shows all of these sites on the island, and more, with charming cartoon illustrations of visitors enjoying the island. North is oriented to the upper right. Good to very good condition with folds as issued, some additional creasing at top along the center fold, and a smudge on the left side. This is the map only, not the full brochure. Measures approx. 9 x 15.5 inches to the paper edges.
