Antique map of the Indian Ocean by Tardieu, from Histoire Naturelle, Generale et Particuliere, Des Mineraux by Leclerc de Buffon, c. 1795. The title translates to "Map of Declinations and Inclinations of the Magnetic Needle compiled from the Table of Magnetic Observations made by Travelers since the Year 1775." Shows the area from South Africa to Borneo, with India and the Arabian Peninsula. Good antique condition with image transfer (aka ghosting) and a few minor spots. With folds as issued. Measures approx. 7.5 x 8.25 inches to the neatline. Part of a set of 4 maps from the same series. Please let us know if you would like us to include the book at no additional cost.
