Antique natural history map of the world showing ocean currents from the Atlas of Physical Geography by Alexander Keith Johnston, printed by William Blackwood & Sons, 1869. At bottom are several diagrams showing the proportion of land and water on the globe, and comparative elevation of the tallest mountain and greatest depth of the ocean. Much was still unknown about the North and South Poles at this time. Original printed-color. Good antique condition with mild foxing and an ink stain at bottom. Thick paper with a gilded edge. Measures approx. 9.25 x 12 inches to the neatline.
