Antique hand colored map from "Atlas of Physical Geography" published c.1850 by Petermann and Milner. This map of the world shows the currents and temperatures of the ocean, with a key detailing the shading gradients and iconography. An asterisk shows the location of the greatest known depth of the ocean between South America and St Helena Island. Engraved by J Dower. Very good condition with some minor signs of age, such as spots and toning. Measures approximately 10.5 inches by 14 inches.
